We have complied with the Government’s guidance on managing the risk of COVID-19 where we have:

  • Carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment as shown HERE and have shared this with the people impacted by our operations.
  • Cleaning, handwashing and hygiene procedures in place.
  • Taken all reasonable steps to help people work from home.
  • Taken all reasonable steps to ensure social distancing in the workplace.
  • Done everything practical to manage transmission risk where social distancing is difficult.

We can still be contacted using the regular office phone numbers, 0131 454 1500 for Midlothian and 01896 242 170 for Scottish Borders. However, we realise that in these difficult times communication can be challenging and with most staff working from home it maybe easier to email or contact staff directly on their mobiles.

Most of our landlines are currently being diverted to mobiles and at peak times can be busy so please leave a message on voicemail and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

If you are having trouble in contacting the person you need to reach, call our main 0131 454 1500 number and continue to hold rather than selecting one of the four options and someone from our general office staff will assist. Again, please leave a voice mail if there is no reply or the line is busy. Alternatively, email us on the general enquiries’ mailbox

All offices are open but not fully staffed - if you need to visit, please follow the guidance given on the tabs below:

Our Care departments are continuing to operate normally and can be contacted on the usual office and out of hours numbers.

Please contact the team on 0131 454 1500 selecting option 1.

Home Help & Companionship

Home Help & Companionship

Our Home Help and Companionship department is operating at a reduced capacity, but we are bringing more staff back to work as our clients request a return of our services.

If you are an existing client looking to resume or a new client seeking help at home. We are also considering the possibility of providing a telephone based remote companionship service and would be pleased to hear from anyone seeking such a service.

Please contact the team on 0131 454 1500 selecting option 3

Training & Conferencing

Most of our training courses remain suspended due to the difficulty in social isolating for face to face training activities. However, we are still providing essential and mandatory training particularly in social care disciplines utilising smaller classes and socially isolating techniques. We are also providing support over the phone and video conferencing and are preparing a limited number of on-line classes. If you are attending training at McSence, a COVID-19 procedure for using the training rooms can be found HERE.

For further details, please email the training team

Unfortunately, due to the difficulties in social distancing for large gatherings and a lack of demand from clients, our conferencing facilities at Mayfield remain closed. Any enquiries can be made to

Cleaning & Property Maintenance

Cleaning & Property Maintenance

All our cleaning and property maintenance services have now re-opened as we have a number of clients returning to work and others requesting additional cleaning services in response to Government guidance on workplace safety. There have been some personnel changes during lockdown and enquiries from existing clients looking to resume service or any potential new enquiries can be made through our main office number 0131 454 1500, selecting option 4.

Clients should note that material supplies are difficult at present and we would strongly recommend clients contact us as soon as possible with their requirements so lead in times can be minimised.
